Phillipsburg resident Glenna L. Moore passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 77.
She was born July 12, 1936 in Dearing, KS, to Louie Robert & Alice Mae (Romig) Pursley. Glenna was an insurance agent in Phillipsburg before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Phillipsburg; sons, Carl of Alma, NE and John of Bennington, KS; daughter, Vivian Meyer of Phillipsburg; sisters, Darlene Chance of Clearwater, FL and Nancy Marshall of Tulsa, OK; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Gary Davison officiating. Graveside service & burial will be Saturday, April 26, at 1:00 p.m. in the Colony Cemetery, Colony, KS.
Mrs. Moore will lie in-state on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Johnson Cancer Research Center.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Fr. Pat Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Kennith R. McGlasson, age 79, of WaKeeney, passed away after a lengthy illness Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney. He was born in Elk County, Kansas, and graduated from Grenola High School with the class of 1952. His parents were Reed and Oretha (Wilcoxen) McGlasson.
On July 20th, 1958, he was united in marriage to Ruelena Cox of Arkansas City at the Cedar Vale Baptist Church. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage together. In 1968, Kennith joined the Kansas Highway Patrol and spent his entire career in this area. He retired in 1993. Kenny was well known for his outgoing personality and quick wit. He always liked to hear or tell a good joke.
Kennith is survived by his wife; 3 brothers, Ed and wife Teressa McGlasson and Don and wife Ann McGlasson, both of Arkansas City, and Dave and wife Delores McGlasson of Coffeyville; and 1 sister Mary Shorter of Ponca City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alene Ware and her husband, Bob; and a brother-in-law, Tom Shorter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Schmitt Funeral Home in WaKeeney. Burial will be in the WaKeeney City Cemetery with honors by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The casket will be open 1 hour to service time for viewing. There will be no visitation.

Lilyota Marie Brungardt, 76, Gorham, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Hays Medical Center with her children by her side. She was born April 7, 1938, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Scholastica (Walters) Leiker.
Lilyota spent her childhood on the family farm north of Walker, Kansas, where she grew up to appreciate her Volga German heritage. She graduated from Victoria High School in 1956. In 1959, she graduated from St. Anthony School of Nursing in Hays as a registered nurse.
On June 17, 1961, Lil married Donald Francis Brungardt in St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Walker, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2001.
Lil is survived by her children Kerry (Michele) Brungardt of Lansing, KS; Kevin (Jennifer) Brungardt of Walker, KS; Kelly Brungardt-Neil of Tonganoxie, KS; and Kendra Brungardt of Russell, KS; grandchildren Nick and Joe Brungardt; Blane and Brandon Brungardt; Olivia and Tyler Knoles; Isaac and Abigail Neil; and Wyatt and Max Evans. She is also survived by a sister Nancy (Larry) McCoy of Porter, TX; a brother Dennis (Jan) Leiker of Rolling Bay, WA; a brother Jerome (Jenni) Leiker of Conroe, TX; a brother Wilbert (Karen) Leiker of Topeka, KS; one sister-in-law, Barbara Phillips, Hutchinson, KS.
In addition to Donald, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bernita; a brother, Roger; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Throughout her career as a registered nurse, Lil worked at several medical institutions in Russell and Ellis Counties. Lil retired in 2004 after serving 45 years as a registered nurse.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Gorham, Kansas, where she served as a lector and a member of the Parish Council. Lil’s entire life was centered on her Catholic faith. She was a member of the American Nurses Association, a voracious reader, and an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast. She was very involved and supportive of her children and grandchildren’s activities. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Gorham, with Fr. John Schmeidler O.F.M. Cap. as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Gorham.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, at Cline’s Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601 and from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church

Dylan Gene Woodward, the son of Jeffery Craig Woodward and Denise Renae (Baxa) Woodward, was born December 30, 1992 at Belleville, KS and passed away in Hays, KS on April 24, 2014 at the age of 21 years, 3 months, and 24 days.
Dylan grew up and attended schools in Belleville, graduating from Republic County High School in 2011. He then attended Missouri Auction School and Cloud County Community College. He currently was attending Fort Hays State University, majoring in Agronomy.
Dylan also was a farmhand for Lance Russell of Hays, KS and had served as a summer intern at the Aurora Coop at Hardy, NE.
Dylan was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, the FFA where he was an officer and received a State and National Degree in Turf Grass Management, also a member of the United Methodist Church, the Crop Judging Team at Cloud County Community College, and the Kansas Diesel Crew.
Dylan enjoyed camping, fishing, golf and hunting He also enjoyed four-wheeling and working on this truck, along with country music.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Stanley Woodward and an uncle, Jason Woodward.
Dylan is survived by his parents, Jeff and Denise Woodward of Belleville, KS; Two sisters, Margaret Woodward and Riley Woodward both of Belleville, KS.
Grandmother, Racine Woodward of Broken Bow, NE; grandparents, Dale and Marjorie Baxa of Republic, KS; and his girlfriend, Nickie Weir of Belleville, KS;

Sramek is a seasoned mortgage lender in the Hays and Ellis communities. He joined Equity Bank on April 21 and is based in Equity Bank’s Hays office, 2428 Vine.
Sramek has more than 10 years of experience as a mortgage loan officer and 15-plus years of experience in banking, previously working for Commerce Bank and Sunflower Bank in Hays. Sramek will oversee mortgage lending for Equity Bank in Hays and Ellis, and will be involved in overall branch strategy and business development. Equity Bank entered the Hays and Ellis markets in 2008.

HAYS, Kansas – Vitus R. Brungardt, age 85, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.
He was born November 10, 1928, in Gorham, Kansas to Edward J. and Catherine (Bellendir) Brungardt. He married Gertrude M. (Dome) on August 30, 1948, at Pfeifer, Kansas. She died December 26, 1976. He later married Gladys (Leiker) on August 25, 1977, in Hutchinson, Kansas.
He attended school in Gorham, Kansas, and worked at Dillon’s then S&W Supply and retired in 2004. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and St. Joseph 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, spending time with his family, grandchildren and he was an avid Royal’s fan.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Brungardt, of the home, two sons, Larry F. Brungardt and wife Terri, Hutchinson, KS; Keith A. Brungardt and wife Beverly, Vincent, KS; one daughter, Cindy Huser and husband Bryan, Hays, KS; three stepsons, LaVerne Lang, Jr. and wife Pam, Tribune, KS; Norman Lang and wife, Rose, LaCrosse, KS; Mark Lang and wife ,Lori, Hays, KS; one step-daughter Mary Lou Engel, of the home; one brother, Hubert Brungardt and wife, Shirley, Hays, KS; three sisters, Laura Posednik, Fort Worth, TX; Marie Orth and husband, Frank, McPherson, KS; Teckla Baker, Hays, KS; one brother-in-law, Floris and wife, Bernie, Pfeifer, KS; two sisters-in-law, Jan Brungardt, Kansas City, MO; Josepha Dome, Hays, KS; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren.

The ReStore is located at the south end of The Mall with an outside entrance. Hours are 9 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. Donations of building materials, furniture and appliances are accepted during business hours.
ReStore Pick ups and Deliveries:
Deliveries will be made on exceptional situations only and will incur a minimum delivery fee of $10.
Pickups will be made, but donated items must be at ground level or in the garage.
Tigers in Action have agreed to help also. If you need something picked up please call them at 785 628-5537. They will need to be notified in advance.
Please remember that we do not accept clothing, bedding, mattresses, TV’s, computers and computer equipment.
All donated items must be clean and in good working condition.

A Habitat ReStore is a facility that supports the services provided by its local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. The income generated goes specifically toward expanding the building program of the local Habitat affiliate.
ReStores recycle overstocked, discontinued, new and used building materials as well as furniture and appliances donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. These donated items are sold to the public or used in construction of Habitat houses. All revenue from sales goes to the local affiliate in support of its building program.
The Mall is donating the space for the ReStore to HFHEC with the understanding that if a commercial venture wishes to use the location, HFHEC will have to vacate the space. HFHEC pays all the utilities.
Those who work at the ReStore are volunteers donating their time.

VICTORIA — Ventura M. (Giebler) Weigel, age 96, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at her daughters home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She was born March 25, 1918, in Catherine, Kansas, to James F. and Virginia (Koerner) Giebler.
She married Alvin M. Weigel on November 18, 1941, at Russell, Kansas. He died August 24, 2012.
She was a homemaker, a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church and V.F.W. Auxiliary both of Victoria, and a member of the Hays Daughters of Isabella. She moved to Victoria in 1982, from Pratt, Kansas.
Survivors one son, Gary Weigel and wife, Clarene, Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Delores Schmidt and husband, Terrance, Oklahoma City, OK; Jacqueline Luttrell and husband, Denny, Eldon, MO; two brothers, Kenneth Giebler and wife, Edna, Hays, KS; Vernon Giebler and wife, Lori, Hays, KS; four sisters, Sylvia Stecklein, Pratt, KS; Ruth Carter, Jacksonville, FL; Alice Schneider, Victoria, KS; Mae Desch-Boos, Lafayette, CO; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Giebler, Grand Junction, CO; Theresa Giebler, Hays, KS; ten grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
